Srinagar, November 30: Concerns are growing among parents in Kashmir regarding the practice of private schools interviewing children for admission into pre-nursery, nursery, and LKG classes. Many parents feel this practice is unnecessary and puts undue stress on both the children and their families.

In an interview with Gulistan News, Dr. Tassaduq Hussain, Director of School Education Kashmir, addressed these concerns, emphasizing that the National Education Policy (NEP) strictly prohibits such interviews with children.

Dr. Hussain clarified, “If any school is conducting such interviews, they are likely meeting with the parents instead. We will soon address this issue in an upcoming meeting and issue clear instructions on the matter.”

Parents are calling on the government and education authorities to take prompt action to put an end to this practice, advocating for a more transparent and stress-free admission process for young children.

With the Director’s statement, it is expected that official guidelines will soon be released to ensure fairness and clarity in the admission procedure.
