Srinagar, November 4: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that examinations for students up to Class 9 in the Kashmir Valley will take place in December.

Recently, the government revealed that the academic calendar for these students would follow a November-December timeline. However, there was some confusion regarding the exam schedule, with initial uncertainty about whether they would be held in November or December. Authorities have now confirmed that the exams will indeed occur in December.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo reassured parents and students, stating, "The examinations up to Class 9 will be held in December. There’s no need to worry about the cold weather; we will ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the examination halls. Exams have successfully taken place in December in the past as well."

Additionally, Itoo noted that the academic sessions for Classes 10 to 12 will revert to the November-December cycle starting next year. This follows the implementation of a Uniform Academic Calendar in Jammu and Kashmir from the 2022-23 academic year.
