The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is planning to begin the annual regular exams for 10th to 12th grades in the third week of February 2025. A senior official from JKBOSE shared with Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that although no exact dates have been finalized yet, the exams are expected to start between February 10 and February 15.
The board aims to conduct the exams earlier this year, approximately a month before the usual schedule, to align with the previous academic session (November-December). This shift is intended to help students resume their studies as per the old academic calendar.
Regarding result declarations, the official mentioned that efforts will be made to announce the results as soon as possible. It is expected to take around 45-50 days to assess the exam papers, with additional time needed for result preparation.
To ensure minimal disruption for students, provisional admissions will be granted to avoid any delays. Earlier, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had stated that the government had decided to revert the academic session for grades 9th and below to November-December. However, the restoration of the earlier academic schedule for 10th to 12th grades will only be effective in 2025, with exams scheduled before the winter break.
