Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi Hospitalised After Heart Attack, Remains in ICU

Bandipora, May 23 –  Prominent Islamic scholar and Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi, suffered a serious heart attack on Thursday morning and is currently receiving treatment at SKIMS Soura in Srinagar.

The incident occurred around 9:30 AM at Darul Uloom Rahimya in Bandipora, where Mufti Qasmi experienced severe chest pain. He was immediately taken to a local hospital before being referred to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) for advanced medical care.

Sources within the hospital confirmed that Mufti Qasmi is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is under close observation by a team of senior doctors.

His son, Muhammad Idrees, issued a statement thanking the medical team for their swift response and the community for their prayers. “It was by Allah’s mercy and the prompt efforts of the doctors that his condition was stabilised. He is now under careful medical supervision,” Idrees said.

He also urged Mufti Qasmi’s followers, students, and well-wishers to continue praying for his recovery. All of the scholar’s scheduled events have been postponed until further notice.
