Srinagar, June 11:
With soaring temperatures across the Valley, Health and Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday stated that the government is closely observing the weather conditions and may announce an early summer vacation for schools if necessary.

"The School Education Department is monitoring the situation. If the heatwave persists and we feel there is a genuine need, we will announce the summer break accordingly," Itoo told reporters.

She added, "It has only been two days of intense heat, but if it continues, a decision will be taken in the interest of students' well-being."

Commenting on the tourism sector, Itoo said, "Kashmir is a renowned tourist destination. We welcome more and more visitors to come and experience the beauty of nature here."

Additionally, the minister confirmed that the committee responsible for preparing the reservation report has completed its work. "The report will be submitted to the cabinet soon for discussion and further action," she noted.
