Srinagar, October 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued fresh instructions prohibiting examination supervisory staff from keeping mobile phones with them while performing duties at examination centres.
According to a circular issued on October 21, 2026, all supervisory personnel have been directed to hand over their mobile phones to the respective centre superintendents before the start of examination duties.
The Board has made it clear that centre superintendents will be personally accountable for ensuring that the directions are followed strictly at their respective centres.
However, centre superintendents have been allowed to retain their mobile phones to facilitate official communication and maintain regular contact with JKBOSE’s divisional, sub and branch offices, as well as their respective departmental authorities.
In another important instruction, JKBOSE has directed examination centres not to permit candidates to leave the premises with their question papers until at least half of the scheduled examination duration has passed.
The measures aim to strengthen examination supervision, maintain discipline and ensure the smooth and fair conduct of ongoing board examinations.
