**Srinagar, June 13 (KNO):** The School Education Department (SED) has mandated that morning assemblies in schools will now commence with the National Anthem, adhering to the standard protocol.

According to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary to the government for the School Education Department, issued a circular outlining new guidelines for conducting morning assemblies in schools.

The circular states, “Morning assemblies play a crucial role in starting the school day positively and fostering a sense of unity and discipline among students. These assemblies have proven to be a valuable ritual within the educational system.”

Kumar highlighted that morning assemblies are essential for nurturing values such as moral integrity, community spirit, and mental tranquility. However, he noted that this important tradition is not uniformly observed across all schools in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.

To ensure consistency, the Principal Secretary has instructed all stakeholders to conduct morning assemblies following the specified guidelines. The a
ssemblies will last for 20 minutes, and all students and teachers are required to gather in the designated area at the beginning of the school day.

The guidelines emphasize that the morning assembly must start with the National Anthem, following the established protocol.
