The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has put forward a proposal for winter vacations to be implemented in stages starting from the second week of December in schools across Kashmir and the winter zone areas of Jammu. According to the proposal, schools for students up to the 2nd primary grade will have their winter break from December 9, 2024, to February 24, 2025. For students from 3rd primary to 12th grade, the vacation is proposed to begin on December 16, 2024, and end on February 24, 2025. This decision comes in response to the ongoing cold wave and dense fog affecting the Kashmir Valley. The proposal has been submitted for review and necessary action by the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department.
