College Bus Accident in Handwara: One Student Dead, 23 Injured
Srinagar, Apr 12: Tragedy struck in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday when a college bus overturned in the Vodhpora area of Handwara, resulting in the death of a female student and injuries to 23 others.
According to officials, the bus was carrying students when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. The sudden accident sent shockwaves through the area.
Local residents, along with emergency responders, quickly arrived at the scene to assist in rescue efforts. The injured were promptly shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment.
Hospital authorities later confirmed the death of one female student and stated that several others are being treated for various injuries. A few of the injured remain in critical condition.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the mishap.
