Eid-ul-Adha to Be Celebrated on June 7 in J&K: Grand Mufti

Sakib
Srinagar, May 27: The crescent moon marking the beginning of Dhul Hijjah was not sighted in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening, according to Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam.

Following the announcement, Eid-ul-Adha will be observed across the Union Territory on Friday, June 7.

The Grand Mufti stated that no credible moon sighting reports were received from any region of Jammu and Kashmir. Consequently, the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah will begin on Thursday, May 29. The festival of Eid-ul-Adha, which falls on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, will therefore be celebrated on June 7.

Eid-ul-Adha honors the devotion and faith of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was willing to sacrifice his son in submission to Allah’s will. Muslims in the region will now begin their preparations for this significant religious occasion.
