FFRC Bars Outsourced Transport Fee Collection During Vacations, Allows Only 50% Fee for School-Owned Buses

Srinagar, July 1 (JKNS): Bringing respite to parents, the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) of J&K has clarified that private schools cannot charge any transport fee for outsourced or third-party bus services during winter and summer vacations.

In a corrigendum issued to its earlier order, the FFRC stated that schools with their own transport can charge only 50% of the usual transport fee during vacation periods.

The directive reads, “Private schools shall charge only 50% of the transport fee if the facility is owned and operated by the school itself. However, if the transport facility is outsourced, hired, or run under a contractual arrangement with external operators, no transport fee shall be charged during the vacations.”

This order will come into effect from the 2024-25 academic session in Kashmir division and from 2025-26 in Jammu division.

The FFRC further directed the Directors of School Education in both divisions to ensure strict implementation of the revised order while all other provisions of the original directive remain unchanged. (JKNS)
