JKBOSE Proposes Dual-Level Mathematics Exam for Class 10; Public Feedback Open for 10 Days

Srinagar, Nov 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced a significant proposal aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020—introducing Mathematics in two levels, Basic and Standard, for Class 10 students.

This step aims to ease exam-related stress and ensure the assessment pattern aligns with a student’s future academic direction.

As per an official notification accessed by Kashmir News Corner (KNC), JKBOSE intends to reform the current evaluation structure by giving students the option to choose between two difficulty levels in Mathematics based on their aptitude and higher education plans, especially for those planning to continue the subject in Class 11 and 12.

Although the Class 10 Board Examination will remain a single test, students will have the choice to appear in either the Standard or Basic level paper. The Standard paper will maintain the existing level of difficulty, while the Basic paper will be
