G H Sheikh Assumes Charge as JKBOSE Chairman; Emphasises Transparency and Reforms
Ghulam Hassan Sheikh formally took over as Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on January 14, following a government order issued under the J&K Board of School Education Act, 1975. After assuming office, he convened an introductory meeting and urged coordinated efforts among all departments to effectively serve students and other stakeholders.
Highlighting his priorities, Sheikh underlined the need for transparency, efficiency, and credibility in the Board’s functioning. He stressed student-friendly governance, smooth delivery of services, timely conduct of examinations, prompt declaration of results, and efficient distribution of textbooks.
The position of JKBOSE Chairman had been lying vacant for almost a year after the previous chairman’s term ended in January 2025, with the Board being managed through additional charge arrangements during the interim period.
