🔘👉🏻 Srinagar, Feb 26 (KNC): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has temporarily withheld its earlier order appointing JKBOSE/SSSA as the nodal agency for conducting the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Through Government Order No. 87-JK (Edu) of 2026 dated February 26, the School Education Department has put on hold its previous Order No. 82-JK (Edu) of 2026 dated February 23 until further notice, as per a copy accessed by Kashmir News Corner (KNC).

The initial directive had been issued in compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgment dated September 1, 2025, in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025 titled Anjuman Ishat-E-Taleem Trust vs State of Maharashtra & Others.

As stated in the order signed by Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma (IAS), the designation of JKBOSE/SSSA as the TET nodal agency will remain in abeyance pending further examination or clarification.

The communication has been forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Project Director Samagra Shiksha J&K, Directors of School Education (Jammu and Kashmir), Chairman JKBOSE/SSSA, Chief Education Officers, and other concerned officials for information and necessary action.

This development may affect the organization and conduct of TET examinations across the Union Territory until a revised order is issued. Further updates are awaited. (KNC)
