Schools Across J&K to Reopen Tomorrow; No Further Extension in Summer Vacation
News By Mir Sakib
Srinagar, July 26: All government and recognised private schools across Jammu and Kashmir will reopen on Monday, July 27, as scheduled, with authorities confirming that the summer vacation will not be extended any further.
Senior officials from the School Education Department said the decision was taken after weather conditions improved significantly across the Union Territory. Officials confirmed that all schools have been instructed to resume normal academic activities from Monday.
The summer vacation had initially been observed from July 6 to July 19 in the Kashmir Division and winter zones of the Jammu Division. It was later extended until July 22 due to the ongoing heatwave, and subsequently until July 26 following forecasts of heavy rainfall, flash floods, and adverse weather conditions.
With the weather now stabilising, the government has decided to reopen schools as planned. Officials stated that all educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir are expected to function normally from tomorrow.
