Education Minister Announces Syllabus Easing for November Exams

Srinagar, Nov 7: Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced today that students set to take exams in mid-November will benefit from a relaxed syllabus. This move follows the shift in the academic calendar, which now requires exams to be held earlier than usual, due to the change from a March to a November session.

The decision to conduct exams in mid-November was influenced by the anticipated snowfall in the winter zone, with the Minister clarifying that further delays would not be feasible.

To address student concerns, Itoo confirmed that syllabus relaxation will be implemented for students up to class 9, following consultations with relevant stakeholders.

“This adjustment will help ease the transition to the new academic schedule, benefiting both students and parents across Jammu and Kashmir,” the Minister told Kashmir News Trust.

In line with the academic shift, schools have begun releasing admission notices for lower grades. [KNT]
