Dr. GN Itoo Assumes Charge as Director of School Education Kashmir

Calls for Enhanced Coordination, Strengthening Public Service Delivery

Srinagar, Dec 12 (GNS): Dr. GN Itoo took over as the new Director of School Education Kashmir on Thursday, succeeding the outgoing Director, Tasaduq Hussain Mir. In a formal handover ceremony, Dr. Itoo received a warm reception from the officers and staff present, to whom he expressed his gratitude.

Following the transition, Dr. Itoo convened an introductory meeting where he emphasized the immediate need to fill vacant positions of principals, ZEOs, and headmasters in various schools. He directed Chief Education Officers (CEOs), principals, cluster heads, and ZEOs to work in close coordination, stressing the importance of strengthening the public service delivery system. He urged that all matters concerning both teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as public concerns, be addressed promptly within a defined timeframe.

A major focus for Dr. Itoo will be the timely resolution of parental concerns. He highlighted that addressing parents' issues effectively would be a top priority for the department.

Dr. Itoo also called on both government and private school administrators to uphold regulations diligently, ensuring they meet the expectations of parents and the community.

Prior to his appointment as Director of School Education Kashmir, Dr. Itoo served as the Mission Director of the Jal Shakti Department, where he facilitated the supply of potable drinking water to remote and underserved areas of J&K. His previous roles include serving as the Director of School Education Kashmir, Director of Tourism Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, and Director of Estates. (GNS)
