Kashmir Schools to Observe 10-Day Summer Break from July 1: Education Minister Sakina Itoo
Revised School Timings to Take Effect from Saturday

Srinagar, June 19 (KNO):

Amid intense heatwave conditions across the Valley, Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday announced that all government and private schools in the Kashmir division will observe a 10-day summer vacation starting from July 1.

Speaking to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the minister stated, “Considering the prevailing high temperatures, summer vacations for schools in the Kashmir division have been scheduled from July 1 to July 10.”

She further mentioned that the government would monitor the weather situation after July 10 and make a decision on whether to extend the break. “We’ll assess the temperature trends post-July 10 and decide accordingly,” Itoo said.

In addition to the vacation announcement, the minister also declared a change in school timings starting this Saturday.

For schools within Srinagar Municipal limits, the new timing will be 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

For those outside the municipal limits, classes will run from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
