Baramulla, July 09 (KNO): Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday indicated that school timings after the summer break might be revised, taking into account the improved weather and feedback from parents.

Speaking to the media in Baramulla, Sakina Itoo, as reported by the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said while the current timings were introduced due to the severe heatwave, the government understands the inconvenience faced by students and parents.

“We are thankful for the recent rainfall. The heatwave had become unbearable, something rarely witnessed in Kashmir. Now that the weather has improved, we will review the timings,” she said.

The minister explained that early morning classes were aimed at shielding children from the extreme heat while keeping their academic calendar on track. “Our goal was to avoid any academic loss. Since the session has already shifted, we wanted to prevent more disruptions,” she added.

She further assured that the government remains open to adjusting the timings to ensure students continue learning comfortably without any obstacles. “We will take all steps necessary to keep their education smooth and comfortable,” she said. – (KNO)
