Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has indicated that annual examinations for Class 10th are tentatively scheduled to start after the first week of November 2025, with Class 11th and 12th exams to be held subsequently.
Speaking to Greater Kashmir, JKBOSE Secretary Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said it is premature to announce any relaxation in syllabus for students at this stage. “We still have over a month and a half left in the academic session. Decisions regarding syllabus relaxation will only be taken once the session concludes and the extent of syllabus completion is assessed,” he stated.
The Secretary noted that schools had been disrupted this year due to Operation Sindoor, heatwaves and floods, which hindered routine academics. “Stakeholders have raised concerns, but we are evaluating all aspects before taking any decision in the students’ interest,” he added.
Sheikh informed that September 19, 2025 was the last date for submission of examination forms, while the extended deadline with late fees is September 29, 2025. “Nearly 99.5 percent of students have already submitted their forms. The date sheet will be issued shortly after the form submission process ends,” he said.
Regarding the upcoming academic session, scheduled to start in November, Sheikh said JKBOSE is planning timely distribution of textbooks across Kashmir. Printing is expected to finish by November 20, after which books will be delivered to schools. “We are hopeful of completing distribution before the winter vacations begin. We are doing everything possible to ensure exams and textbook supplies stay on schedule,” he assured.
