Minister Sakina Itoo Slams Authorities Over Eid-e-Milad Holiday Issue in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 5 (KNC): Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo on Friday strongly criticised the administration for not declaring the Eid-e-Milad holiday as per the actual date, terming the move an “injustice” to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X, quoted by Kashmir News Corner (KNC), the Minister said that although holiday notifications are meant to follow the moon sighting, the authorities failed to honor this principle.
“Despite repeated appeals from the elected Government to adjust the holiday, the administration paid no heed. This is nothing less than playing with people’s sentiments. Such decisions should rest with an elected government, not an appointed administration,” she remarked. (KNC)
