Parents Demand Immediate Summer Vacation as Heatwave Grips Kashmir

Srinagar, June 30: Amid rising temperatures across the Kashmir Valley, parents have urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to announce summer vacations in schools without delay, expressing concern over the health and well-being of students during the ongoing heatwave.
Many parents contacted media outlets on Tuesday, requesting authorities to take urgent action. They said that children, particularly younger students, are finding it difficult to cope with the extreme weather conditions.
“The intense heat during school dispersal hours is causing serious discomfort to children,” a parent said.
Parents are now awaiting the government's response as demands for summer vacations continue to grow across the Valley.
Earlier, Education Minister stated that the government would assess the prevailing weather conditions before taking a decision on summer vacations in July. No official dates or vacation schedule have been announced so far.
Notably, Srinagar recorded its highest temperature of the season on Monday, reaching 35.3°C, as the Valley experienced its third straight day of severe heatwave conditions.
