DSEK Prohibits Private Schools from Forcing Attendance During Summer Vacation

Srinagar, June 26 (KNS): The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has firmly directed all recognised private schools not to compel students or staff to attend school during the ongoing summer vacation.

The directive comes after reports emerged that certain private schools were summoning students and teachers under various justifications, going against established norms. As reported by Kashmir News Service (KNS), the DSEK expressed serious concern over these violations, stressing that such actions defeat the purpose of a summer break and breach departmental regulations.

The circular explicitly states that no academic or extra-curricular activities are to be conducted during the officially sanctioned vacation period.

“All recognised private institutions are required to follow the summer vacation schedule without exception. Any breach will be viewed as a serious offense and dealt with strictly under legal provisions,” the DSEK stated.

The School Education Department has warned that failure to comply with the directive may result in legal consequences for the institutions involved. (KNS)
