Kashmir: JKBOSE Announces Class 10 Exams from November 3 with 15% Syllabus Relaxation
Srinagar, Oct 4 — The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced that the annual Class 10 examinations for the 2025 session will begin on November 3, with 15% relaxation in the syllabus due to academic disruptions caused by extreme weather conditions earlier this year.
According to the official schedule, the exams will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM, with nearly 95,000 students expected to appear. The first paper, Mathematics, is set for November 3, followed by Social Science on November 7. Science will be conducted on November 11, and English on November 14.
Further, Urdu and Hindi exams are scheduled for November 17, Vocational subjects on November 20, and Computer Science on November 19. The exams will conclude on November 27 with Painting/Art & Drawing papers. Subjects with fewer candidates, such as Home Science (Nov 23), Music (Nov 25), and optional languages like Kashmiri, Dogri, Bhoti, Punjabi, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Persian, and Sanskrit (Nov 24), will be held in between.
JKBOSE said the 15% relaxation means students can attempt 85% of the syllabus, which will be treated as 100% for evaluation. The board has urged students to prepare diligently and instructed invigilators to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the exams.
