Srinagar, June 25 (KNO):
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has ordered the continuation of remedial teaching during the summer break for schools that recorded poor performance in the JKBOSE Class 10th and 12th examinations.
According to a directive issued by the Joint Director of Elementary Education, remedial classes—already initiated in underperforming schools—are essential for bridging learning gaps and preparing students for the upcoming biannual examinations.
Key Highlights of the Order:
-
Morning Classes:
Remedial sessions will be held from 8:00 AM onwards to provide a better learning environment and protect students from extreme heat. -
Objective:
The initiative aims to strengthen students' basic concepts, offer personalized academic support, resolve doubts, and help students prepare effectively for their exams. -
Strict Implementation:
Teachers must follow subject-wise remedial plans and timelines strictly. Heads of Institutions are instructed to monitor the classes daily, maintain written records, and ensure teaching is focused and targeted. -
Transparency & Monitoring:
- Timetables should be displayed on school notice boards.
- Teachers must use interactive and student-friendly methods.
- Progress must be assessed regularly.
- Attendance, lesson diaries, and student improvement data must be documented.
-
Parental Involvement:
Parents should be made aware of the importance of these classes and encouraged to ensure regular attendance of their children. -
Supervision:
Cluster Heads must visit schools periodically, monitor the conduct of classes, and submit daily reports with photographs to DIETs.
DIETs will compile weekly reports for SCERT. -
Accountability:
DSEK has warned that any negligence or non-compliance will result in strict disciplinary action against responsible staff.
Chief Education Officers have been asked to enforce the directives in full to ensure students receive the necessary academic support before supplementary JKBOSE exams.
